Christmas 2017

Levi's school had an activity where a parent could come in and help make a gingerbread house with their child. I came in and made a gingerbread house with him. It was fun to do something with just Levi. He was basically piling stuff on his house knowing he was going to consume it shortly.

Maya knocked down the Christmas tree. She was pretty amused.

The kids loved finding our elf on the shelf, Benji, each morning. Even Maya enjoyed looking for him and seeing him around the house.

Each of the kids made a gift list. Some were outrageous things, but we were able to get a little for everyone from their lists.

Christmas Eve we have a tradition of having a Mexican feast. Adrian is in charge every year. This year he cooked pazole, a pork and hominy soup. It was delicious. He made some homemade horchata from scratch which was so yummy. It's my new favorite drink. For dessert he made flan and some cinnamon rice in milk. We had several friends over to enjoy the feast with us. It was an enjoyable evening with good food and company.

Second Christmas in NY!! We have to admit that sometimes it feels time is flying and once again we were celebrating Christmas. We were hoping for a white snowy Christmas and although we did not get much snow, it was still a lot of fun.

The tree after Santa Claus came.

Levi received a pair of roller skates he asked for. They are also holding their new walkie-takies.

This is a little superman. Malachi's favorite super hero.

Maya got her first little Moppi bike. It is the same bike the boys received when they were her age. We look forward to go biking as a family and enjoy the outdoors and the thrill of mountain biking.

The kids were very excited about the hover balls. They were quite interesting and I (Adrian) still don't understand exactly how they fly. They lasted a few days perhaps a few weeks before they had crashed enough times that they stopped working. Nonetheless, the boys enjoyed them.

Hover ball.

Malachi picked out a gift for Maya that was a talking hamster that repeated everything you say in a funny high pitched voice. When he picked it out I thought it was dumb, but it ended up being one of the favorite gifts of Christmas. All the kids would laugh so hard.

This Christmas was pretty usual and although we did not have any extended family over, we made it the best we could. After all, this is our family now.
