May-June 2017

Significant things that occurred in May, were first, Levi's birthday!! Our rambunctious boy turned 6 years old. I really can't believe how fast time is going. And time seems to be speeding up as I get older.  Levi had school on his birthday and when he got home we had cake and pizza. We went to the store and let him pick out a couple toys. He chose a big dart gun that is also a water gun. He also chose a howler football. A couple days after he got the football he and I were throwing it back and forth as we walked around the block with Maya and it bounced into the street and down the storm drain. Yikes!! He was so sad. I felt bad because it was my throw that went into the street and ultimately lost his ball, so I got him a new one exactly like it. We spoil our kids.

Another major event in May was Adrian went to Mexico for a week to visit his family. It had been 3 years since he been down and seen them. It was a good visit. It opened his eyes at how poor his family really is and all they go without. In return he also saw how much he is blessed here with all that he has.

June events: My birthday. Honestly the only thing I remember is taking Levi to school in the morning. Don't even remember if I had cake, oh well.

School ended in June. Levi had a great year in Kindergarten. He learned a lot and will miss his teacher Mrs. Minogue. He thought he would have the same teacher for 1st grade and was really sad to learn that that is not the way it works.

Here's a quick update in pictures:

Our two current vehicles. I drive the huge F-250 and Adrian commutes in the Mini Cooper.

Maya sure lucked out in the brother department. They care for her. She and Levi particularly get along. Levi really cares for her and enjoys playing with her and making her laugh.

Adrian with his program director Dr. Rozenberg and his fellow residents.

We all fight to snuggle with Papa.

May and June brought warmer weather and with that we were able to get out Malachi's water slide he got for his birthday. This is Levi. He has no problem getting wet and trying his best to reach the bottom pool.

Little miss playing in the water as well.

Here's Malachi sliding.

Mexico trip:
Adrian met up his former school mates from middle school in Mexico. He had a really great time catching up with them.

Adrian and his mother.

Adrian with his parents, brother Omar and niece Sherlyene.

Adrian with his brother Omar.

Levi's birthday cake. He wanted a sprinkle cake, same as last year.

The ward had a Father and Son's campout in Riverhead. Adrian went with the boys while Maya and I had a girls night with some girls from the ward. They had fun at the campout. Levi did throw up right as he was going to bed because he ate so much junk, but Adrian dealt with it and survived the night.

Here's Malachi's sunbeam class.

The kids are crazy. They drug Levi's mattress into my bedroom so they could prop it up and roll down it. Maya was just as crazy as the boys.

Love these boys of mine.

How we journeyed to and from school. We usually had to take turns what boy got to sit on top. It's a half mile walk to school.

Little miss and her precious teddy. So pretty!

Getting used to using a fork.

And big messes warrant a bath. Maya didn't like baths for a long time. She didn't (and still doesn't) like water on her face. She panics if I pour water on her head. She usually enjoys her bath by walking around the tub and dumping water with a cup.

A snippet from Levi's kindergarten journal!

The kids love to play with the hose. Maya will hold the hose and just stare at the water coming out.

Mud is fun to play in!! I enjoyed taking care of our garden. I'd weed a little bit everyday and enjoyed seeing how things were growing. It was satisfying.

Field Day!! A day for playing all day. Levi had so much fun. Next to him is his best friend Rosalie.

The one and only time Malachi fell asleep while I walked to school.

A rare sight in this house. Usually they have enough energy to go all day and night. This was probably after a day at the pool. Levittown has free outdoor pools all around town for residents. They opened mid June and we hit the pool several times a week.

Maya is such a climber. She climbs on everything possible. Chairs, toys, table, couch, beds, etc. She's pretty agile, she rarely falls off things.

June 23, last day of kindergarten for Levi. Happy to start summer.

Silly boys playing in the sprinkler. Levi is on top of Malachi.

Mud puddles.

Maya likes to scribble and draw.
